Privacy Policy for PixelPurge

Overview

PixelPurge (“the App”) is a photo library cleaning tool developed by Krishna Kumar (“we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our App.

The short version: We don’t collect, store, or share any of your data. Everything happens on your device.

Information We Access

Photos & Media Library

The App requires access to your device’s photo library to:

• Scan for duplicate and similar photos
• Display photos for review within the App
• Move photos to trash or permanently delete them at your request

All photo processing happens entirely on your device. Your photos are never uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third party.

Permissions Used

Permission	Purpose
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES	Read photos from your library for duplicate detection and review
ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATION	Access photo metadata (date, location) for organizing by time period
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE	Legacy permission for devices running Android 12 and below
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE	Legacy permission for devices running Android 12 and below

Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or share:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Photos or media files
• Location data
• Device identifiers
• Usage analytics or telemetry
• Crash reports
• Any data whatsoever to external servers

Data Storage

The App stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Session history: Statistics about your cleaning sessions (photos reviewed, space saved)
• Trash queue: Photos you’ve moved to trash are copied to the App’s private storage and removed from your gallery. They can be restored or permanently deleted from within the App.
• App preferences: Settings like auto-delete timer duration
• Onboarding status: Whether you’ve completed the initial setup

This data is stored using your device’s local storage (AsyncStorage) and is never transmitted off your device.

Data Deletion

• You can delete any trashed photos permanently from within the App
• Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored app data
• The App does not retain any data after uninstallation

Third-Party Services

PixelPurge does not use any third-party services, including:

• No analytics (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
• No advertising SDKs
• No crash reporting services
• No cloud storage services
• No social media integrations

Children’s Privacy

PixelPurge does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The App does not collect information from any user regardless of age.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this document.
